Run On Shine Video: A One Year Anniversary

Last week I turned 23 years old. For my birthday, I received a special gift that I want to share with all of you since it encapsulates the joy of my 22nd year of life, that was largely marked by running.

This time last year, I was working at Green Mountain Running Camp (GMRC) in Vermont, teaching yoga to high school runners for the first time. Some of my fellow GMRC counselors also attended Bates College and convinced me to join the cross country team two weeks before the season started. Running for Bates my senior year was one of the best decisions of my life.

I am again working at GMRC and coming upon the anniversary of my decision to join the Bates team.  I feel deeply grateful to my Bates Coach, Jay Hartshorn, and my amazing sisters/teammates who welcomed me into the world of running.

This video is by Tobias Albrigsten, friend and filmmaker, from a shared running adventure in Boulder this past July. Tobias entitled it “Run on Shine”— I couldn’t agree more with his title — Running has made me shine with joy throughout this past year.

I can’t wait for many more years of running to come!
